Zoom Account Types


To use CUIMC Zoom Pro account, you must first create your own Basic account. Basic accounts can only be self-created and must be created before a Pro account can be used.

All Zoom accounts are part of CUIMC Zoom for Healthcare, which does not allow recording meetings to Zoom cloud as it is not HIPAA compliant. However, you can still record a meeting on your computer.

To request any other type of account or to change, deactivate, or update billing for existing CUIMC Zoom accounts, please submit the Zoom Accounts form to the top right after you've created your basic account. You will need to include ARC billing information, which you can get from your Department Administrator (DA).

Pro Shared
  • Covered under FAIR

Event Licenses  Use Details Cost and SLA 
Large Room
  • Unlimited meeting length for up to 1,000 participants, depending on license size
  • To request a large room, Please submit a ticket to CUIT, as indicated on CUIT's Zoom page.
  • To inquire about the status of your order, please contact CUIT at zoom-admin@columbia.edu. Include the INC number you received from submitting a ticket as the subject line.

Prices are according to CUIT's Zoom rates:

  • Up to 500 participants - $400 per year
  • 501 to 1000 participants - $640 per year
  • Created within 30 business days after DA approval is received*
Webinar

Prices are according to CUIT's Zoom rates:

  • 1,000 to 2,999 participants - $3,400 per year
  • 3,000 to 4,999 participants - please contact CUIT with details on your needs
  • 5,000 to 9,999 participants - please  contact CUIT with details on your needs
