Smartphones and tablets used with CUIMC resources are required by University policy to be encrypted with a password or passcode lock, even if the phone or tablet is personally owned. These are enforced automatically when a phone or tablet is set up to connect to a CUIMC email account.
For devices that aren't configured to connect to CUIMC email please see instructions linked below. In general, devices that use an operating system version that the vendor still supports - including releasing current security patches - can use encryption and automatic locks.
