Remove CUIMC Email from an Android Device


If you no longer use your CUIMC email in on your Android phone or tablet, or your CUIMC email account is having problems including  no longer connecting, removing the account is recommended. For issues connecting, removing and then setting up the account in a current, approved app typically fixes any settings that may have become outdated or corrupt. Note that Outlook is the only supported app on Android due to its higher security and compatibility with the CUIMC email platform, Microsoft 365.

Use steps below based on the app you need to remove the account from: Outlook or Mail.

IMPORTANT: When removing your email account from the app, some settings such as which items to synchronize, email signatures, and notifications may be removed as well, but can be re-configured after setting up.

Mail app

Steps below may vary depending on the Android version and mail app used on your device. For more specific instructions please check the app or device manufacturer's website or help files on how to remove an email account.

  1. Tap Settings from your device's home screen, then Accounts.
  2. Tap the account or app type used on your Android device for CUIMC email.
  3. Tap your CUIMC email account.
  4. Tap the menu in the upper right corner, then Remove account. Android Account Sync Android Account Sync
  5. Tap Delete Account at the bottom of the window (you may need to scroll down).
  6. If prompted, tap Delete Account again.
  7. Restart your device. If needed follow current instructions to set up your CUIMC email account again.

Outlook app

  1. Open Outlook on your Android device and tap the menu (horizontal bars or your initials/avatar) icon in the upper left. menu icon in Outlook app
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the menu that appears and select the Settings (gear) icon. Settings icon at the bottom of the pull out menu
  3. In the Settings screen tap on your CUIMC/Microsoft 365 email account.
  4. In the Account Info screen tap DELETE ACCOUNT (near the bottom) and follow any additional prompts to remove it from the device.
  5. Restart your device. If needed, follow current instructions to set up your CUIMC email account again.
